Supporting the Work of the New York Province of the Society of Jesus

Your gifts…..

  • provide spiritual and material aid to educate our seminarians and seek men with a vocation to be a Jesuit priest or brother

     

    Five men of the Maryland, New England and New York Provinces pronounced vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in August of 2011. Your support will enable them to continue their education as Jesuits.
  • assist Jesuits in our foreign missions
  • provide care for our elderly and infirm Jesuits
  • support new projects like Cristo Rey in Harlem and the Dominican Outreach Program
  • help Jesuit schools through the spiritual formation of their lay faculty
  • assist all other apostolates which the New York Province supports for the greater glory of God.

You can financially support the works of the New York Province Jesuits in a variety of ways – whether you prefer an outright gift or a planned gift, there are a number of flexible options for your specific financial goals and circumstances.

Cash Gifts  – donors who itemize their tax returns receive a full charitable income tax deduction.  Please make checks payable to the New York Province of the Society of Jesus.

Credit Cards are a quick and easy way to make your contribution.  We are pleased to accept gifts through Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Matching Gifts – Many employers match gifts made by their employees.  Donors can double or triple their gift when matched by their employer’s gift program.

Gifts of Appreciated Stock benefit the New York Province and often provide the donor with substantial tax savings.  Please contact the Advancement Office for instructions for the transfer of stock.

A Planned Gift to the New York Province helps ensure the future of our many works.   Planned gifts can be outright gifts of cash or securities.  They include gifts by will, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts and beneficiary designations of life insurance policies or other assets such as IRA’s.   A planned gift is a meaningful way to demonstrate your interest in the work of the New York Province of the Society of Jesus and allows you to arrange your assets to benefit you, your loved ones and charitable causes now and in the future. 

The Good Samaritan Club is our monthly donor program.   Members have expressed a desire to receive letters and provide support on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis.  The letters detail the work of the Jesuits both here and abroad, and keep members informed of any special needs.

 Direct Mail Appeals are sent throughout the year to our entire network of benefactors.

For many individuals considering a substantial donation to the New York Province, year-end is an excellent time to give and maximize the impact on income tax obligations.
